 This is meant to be a drum light with a metal base. As you can see it has been modified by the householder in what I am sure they thought is a very ingenious way. The existing ceiling rose has been used and the lamp holder changed to the one already fixed in place. You can see the burn on the ceiling rose where the 100w lamp was resting.

 Had this been IP rated for in the zones of a bathroom it would have been compromised as the fitting has been modified. Use the proper accessories for the job
