At some point the cooker control switch has been relocated from its original position to the left new position. Where the original position is located a connection block was used buried in the wall.

 Cables run in walls can be a problem when you don't know where to find them. If they are buried in a place they should not be, as in the vertical drop in picture picture 1 to the connection blocks, this presents a potential danger.

 Connections buried in walls are not good practice, they should always be in an enclosure which in turn should not be buried in a wall.
